Multidisciplinary Biopsychosocial Approach
Greetings. This is a comprehensive website for evidence based approach to spinal disorders. It is targeted for both patients and physicians. A multidisciplinary team based approach in precision diagnosis and treatment of each spinal condition is vital to the success of individualized patient care. This coupled with compassionate care is the holistic approach in spine care.
The Comprehensive Spine Care Center at OrthoNeuroSpine specializes in all varieties of back and spine care using state-of-the-art techniques for pain relief. The goal of the staff at the clinic is to provide the best spinal care. We specialize in the surgical and medical management of back and neck disorders which includes back / neck injuries, herniated discs, fractures, scoliosis, tumour, spinal stenosis, and degenerative deformities. We practice the latest innovative techniques in spinal surgery including microendoscopic discectomy, sacroiliac fusion, nonfusion techniques, neural ablation, neuromodulation and minimally invasive interbody fusion with cages.

The ScoliScore Prognostic Test is a clinically validated, multi-gene test that provides a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the likelihood of spinal curve progression for patients who have been diagnosed with AIS. It is paving the way for individualized scoliosis treatment by providing patient-specific information that is used to help health care providers optimize treatment plans.
It is intended for patients who are -
1)Primary diagnosis of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis
2)Between the ages of 9 and 13 years old
3)Mild scoliotic curve (defined as <25°)
4)Caucasian ethnicity (North American, South American, European, Eastern European, Middle Eastern)
What is Evidence Based Medicine (EBM)?
EBM is "the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of the individual patient. It means integrating individual clinical expertise with the best available external clinical evidence from systematic research." (Sackett D, 1996) EBP is the integration of clinical expertise, patient values, and the best research evidence into the decision making process for patient care. Clinical expertise refers to the clinician's cumulated experience, education and clinical skills. The patient brings to the encounter his or her own personal and unique concerns, expectations, and values. The best evidence is usually found in clinically relevant research that has been conducted using sound methodology. (Sackett D, 2002)
DaVinci for Spine Surgery
This new revolutionary and innovative robotic approach offers a minimally invasive alternative to the commonly performed ALIF surgery that typically has longer hospital stays and more blood loss when performed with traditional methods.
Stem Cell for Disc Degeneration
Current first-line therapies for disc degeneration such as physical therapy and spinal fusion address symptoms, but do not treat the underlying degeneration. The use of tissue engineering to treat disc degeneration provides an opportunity to correct the pathological process. Novel techniques are currently being investigated and have shown mixed results. One major avenue of investigation has been stem cell injections into the disc space.
Robotic Surgery
Robotics is transforming spine surgery from freehand procedures to highly-accurate, state-of-the-art robotic procedures, with less radiation—even for minimally invasive surgery (MIS), scoliosis, and other complex spinal deformity cases.
Powered by Clinically Validated Technology - Highly Accurate and Safe
Over 15,000 implants placement
No cases of permanent nerve damage
1 mm accuracy
Wide Range of Clinical Applications
Hardware and software tools enable a variety of spine procedures
Open, MIS, and percutaneous posterior thoracolumbar approaches
Scoliosis and other complex spinal deformities
Pedicle screws – short and long fusions
Transfacet screws and translaminar-facet screws
Osteotomies
Biopsies
Disc Pressure Measurement
Concordant provocative discography has value in determining which of the radiologically affected discs are clinically significant. The latest development is the ability to measure and get a documented printout of disc pressure.
Radiofrequency Facet Denervation
Facet arthritis can be a pain generator. Radiofrequency denervation provides a minimally invasive procedure that can give lasting pain relief from facet joint pain. This highly effective treatment, involves applying heat to the appropriate nerve pathways to “shut off” the transmission of pain signals to the brain
